WELCOME!
I am an Elvis Presley fan, and Jocelyn Lane came to my attention through her role in the 1965 Elvis film Tickle Me. It's hard to argue against the legendary and fantastic Ann-Margret, but without a doubt, Jocelyn is on the short list in any debate as to who was the prettiest co-star in an Elvis movie.
Over the years, my list of favorite actresses has evolved to the point that the short list includes Ann-Margret, Catherine Spaak, Stefania Sandrelli, and Jocelyn. Jocelyn's career was shorter than these other legendary actresses, and information on her a little harder to come by, so my interest was stirred. As I happened across information about Jocelyn through the years, I squirreled it away, thinking that I might use it for a blog some day. Well, that day has arrived!
This is my first attempt at creating a blog from scratch, so please be patient. This will be an evolving process. It may take a little time to get fully up and running, but I think that people interested in Jocelyn will find it fun. Who knows? Maybe Jocelyn herself will stumble across it some day!
My plan is to treat the blog similar to an in-progress book. I will work my way chronologically through Jocelyn's life and career, with each post being like a chapter in the book. However, the book will always be in the editing process. As new information and images become available to me, I will revisit, modify, and update the relevant "chapter."
I have no insider connections to Jocelyn and doubt that I will ever have an opportunity to meet her. I am merely an admirer of her work and a fan of retro-cinema in general, who finds it fun to work on something like this in my spare time. I am generally reliant on press accounts and other publicly available information as sources, although I do attend conventions from time to time, some of which include folks that worked with Jocelyn. I hope that talking to some of them can add an interesting perspective.
So, please check back in the coming weeks for the blog to get up and running. If you note any mistakes and have corrections that you would like to suggest, or if you have any information that you would like to share, please let me know!
Thanks so much for all your effort and research. Fantastic detail...
