The Dating Game was an ABC-TV show created by the legendary Chuck Barris, which aired in its original form from December 20, 1965 until being dropped on July 6, 1973 (It aired in various other incarnations through the years thereafter). Hosted by Jim Lange, the show usually involved a bachelorette that would question bachelors that were hidden from her view, choosing her date at the end of the show based on their answers. Sometimes, a bachelor would question female contestants.
The show was originally broadcast during the day in black-and-white. When a prime-time version began in 1966, both versions were broadcast in color, making it the first ABC daytime series to be broadcast in color on a regular basis.
It is believed that the daytime versions were generally erased after broadcast (which was a standard practice at the time), but at least 25 episodes are known to exist (23 of which were aired on the Game Show Network at some point). Presumably the prime-time episodes still exist in a vault somewhere.
IMDB does not include an appearance on The Dating Game as part of its record on Jocelyn, however, I have seen some sources indicating that she made an appearance on the show in 1968. That makes sense to me, because in the latter part of 1968, she kicked up her acting career after a year-and-a-half layoff by making TV guest appearances on It Takes A Thief and The Queen and I before signing with American International Pictures and starting work on Hell's Belles. A number of celebrities and people who would later become well-known celebrities appeared on the show during this era, so it would not be at all surprising if Jocelyn was included among that group.
If Jocelyn did indeed appear on the show, I have no idea if it was a day-time version or a prime-time version. This is likely one of those appearances that we will never get to see, but I will certainly keep my eyes open for it. If anyone has any additional information, I would love to hear it.
